The following request has been submitted to the Rockaway Boro Little League by Lisa Tanis. We have adopted these requests as guideline for all of us to follow. The no parking signs are clearly marked and speed limit is 25 MPH, maybe it should be 15 MPH.
USE OF SMITH FIELD
The residents of West Lincoln Avenue would like to request that users of Smith Field respect the following basic rules:
1) There is no parking on the left side of West Lincoln. When cars park on both sides, it creates a fire and emergency hazard. There are ‘no parking’ signs, but they are constantly disregarded. Rockaway Borough Police will be notified of anyone parked on the left side of the street.
2) The speed limit on West Lincoln is 25 MPH. It is very important to approach Smith Field cautiously as there is a playground where small children play and we have had many near misses lately that are concerning the residents. Watch your speed approaching the field. Including coming to practices.
3) Garbage is becoming a big issue. Users and guests should dispose of their garbage in the receptacles provided. This includes the playground area and the parking lot. Too much garbage is being left behind after practices/games.
The residents are very accommodating to the users of Smith Field and we request these basic courtesies in return. Please be considerate.
